Abstract: This article mainly outlines the application of clamps and related auxiliary tools used in the aluminum profile industry on production lines. Specifically, it includes: the application of manual clamps, pneumatic clamps, and clamp openers on horizontal anodizing lines; the application of conductive copper clamps and anti-collision clamps on vertical anodizing lines; the application of spraying clamps, chains, hooks, drilling machines, and paint stripping machines; the application of spacer energy bars on extrusion and surface treatment production lines; and the application of PBO high-temperature rollers on extrusion production lines. In sharing specific application cases, the article analyzes the advantages of these auxiliary tools and provides insights into their use.

1. Introduction

In recent years, with the slowdown of global economic growth, the continuous changes in the market, and the increasing complexity of the international trade environment, my country's aluminum processing industry has faced the dual pressures of international market competition and trade protectionism. In its future development, it will continue to face numerous obstacles and challenges. To address these challenges and opportunities, the aluminum processing industry needs to continuously adjust its market structure, optimize its industrial layout, strengthen technological innovation and product research and development, and improve product quality and added value. All units and institutions need to strengthen cooperation to jointly promote the healthy development of the industry and make positive contributions to the sustainable development of China's economy.

In order to keep up with the times, our company has put a lot of effort into the clamps and related auxiliary tools for the aluminum industry. Through nearly 20 years of hard work, our products have covered the extrusion, oxidation, and spraying processes of aluminum profile manufacturers. We have more than 1,000 mature products in use, more than 200 patent certificates, and serve more than 600 well-known aluminum profile companies worldwide. Now, we would like to take this opportunity to comprehensively summarize and share our achievements over the years, hoping to help more companies and make progress together.

2. Fixture Case Sharing

Adhering to the principles of increasing production efficiency, reducing costs, and alleviating labor intensity, our company has been continuously striving in the production and R&D of clamps. Our most mature products currently include: manual clamps for horizontal anodizing lines, pneumatic clamps, conductive copper clamps for vertical anodizing lines, anti-collision clamps, and spray coating clamps, which are shared below:

2.1 Application of manual clamps, pneumatic clamps, and clamp openers for horizontal oxidation lines

In 2006, our company successfully developed its first "Yanchuang Oxidation Clamp" and obtained a national patent certificate, officially marking the beginning of the company's development. Among them, the YCA series clamps are the most common clamps for horizontal oxidation lines. They are simple in structure, corrosion-resistant, reliable in clamping, highly secure, easy to use, and do not easily trap acids and alkalis. They come in a wide variety of sizes and can also be customized according to customer needs.

The YCE and YCD series are innovative developments based on our traditional clamps. They are characterized by their simplicity and compactness, maintaining the elasticity of the original A-type clamps, high clamping reliability, and the ability to perform clamping operations via pneumatic clamp openers. They are suitable for semi-automatic production lines, effectively reducing the labor intensity of workers and improving production efficiency (based on data collection and comparison from well-known companies, the conclusion is that they can increase efficiency by 15% compared to manual clamps). They do not trap acids or alkalis, are easy to clean and maintain, and have a long service life.

2.2 Application of Oxidized Vertical Conductive Copper Clips and Anti-collision Clips

The YCV series of vertical copper clamps are specialized clamps developed specifically for clamping profiles in vertical anodizing production lines. They are made of 316L stainless steel, copper plates, and tin bronze heads using a special process. They can be used manually or pneumatically, are environmentally friendly, and recyclable. They are easy to operate, durable, and highly efficient vertical clamps for anodizing production (according to statistics, the efficiency improvement is 5 times or more than that of traditional horizontal lines).

In production practice, the high-density upward arrangement of vertical production lines presents new challenges for profiles with high surface finish requirements (such as dark champagne finishes). Due to the high density, collisions and scratches are more likely to occur during the production line process, directly impacting the yield rate. To address these challenges, the YCF series of anti-collision clamps was developed. Through the joint efforts of our production, R&D, and follow-up personnel, we overcame numerous difficulties and developed several products, including rod-type anti-collision linkage clamps and multi-tooth anti-collision clamps, all of which have achieved excellent results. These products, used in conjunction with vertical clamps, significantly reduce the probability of collisions and scratches, greatly improving the yield rate and thus gaining recognition from manufacturing companies.

2.3 Application of spraying fixtures

Chain clamps are widely used in spray painting production lines. Our company's YCP series of spray painting clamps offers a wide variety of types and styles, including single-tooth clamps, multi-tooth clamps, and heat insulation material anti-collision clamps, among others. The most noteworthy is our company's proprietary self-locking clamp. Most manufacturers use a drilling method for mounting the aluminum material for spray painting, which requires sawing the drilled areas (using saw heads), resulting in significant material loss. Traditional clamps often fail to grip the aluminum material tightly due to the smooth surface of the clamping area, leading to material loss. The self-locking clamp effectively solves these problems, offering simple and fast operation.

As the market continues to develop, the requirements for production equipment and auxiliary tools will become increasingly higher, with auxiliary fixtures playing a crucial role. Our company will continue to innovate and strive to serve our aluminum industry customers.

 

3. Sharing of other auxiliary tools

In addition to clamps, our company has also actively collaborated to develop other auxiliary tools to meet the needs of different enterprises, such as: spray painting chains, hooks, punching machines, paint strippers, extrusion and surface treatment spacers, high-temperature rollers, etc. Below are some brief introductions:

3.1 Applications of spraying chains, hooks, drilling machines, and paint stripping machines

Our company has developed corresponding products for commonly used spray painting components such as chains, hooks, and spray painting hangers. We adjust and optimize these products according to customers' actual needs, ensuring they adapt well to market demands. Our recently developed drilling machines and hook paint stripping machines are new products that have undergone multiple optimizations. For example, traditional electric drills are prone to slipping, have power cords, and are not very safe. Our drilling machines, however, use pneumatic drilling, which is labor-saving. Workers can drill without exerting force, reducing labor intensity. They can be operated by both men and women, offer high work safety, and minimize material waste.

Hooks used in aluminum spraying production accumulate a thick layer of paint over time. Traditionally, this is addressed by manually hammering the hooks to remove the paint, resulting in high labor costs and very low efficiency. Therefore, our company has developed an automatic hook paint removal machine to address this problem. Due to its energy-saving, low-investment, and high-return features, it is increasingly popular with customers.

3.2 Application of spacer energy bars in extrusion and surface treatment production lines

During storage, handling, and transportation, aluminum profiles are traditionally protected against damage by using felt sleeves and spacers. However, these materials are prone to trapping tiny metal shavings, which are difficult to detect and can adhere firmly, causing secondary damage to the aluminum surface – a problem that is difficult to prevent. Our company has developed a new product, the "energy rod," which provides energy to aluminum profiles. Its advantages include a soft, wear-resistant, and dirt-resistant material with a long service life and recyclability. Following this concept, we have also developed a frame-protecting energy rod for manual framing during processes such as oxidation, coloring, electrophoresis, spraying, and painting. This prevents collisions and scratches between profiles. Many large aluminum factories across the country have already implemented this system in batches, and it has received unanimous praise from the aluminum industry.

3.3 Application of PBO high-temperature rollers in extrusion production lines

During aluminum profile extrusion molding, the surface temperature is high ( up to about 580 degrees Celsius) and the hardness is relatively low. Traditionally, graphite cylinders or felt cylinders are used to support the extrusion, but these are prone to scratching or accumulating powder, affecting product quality. To solve this problem, our company has successfully developed a practical new type of PBO roller through design and repeated testing.

This roller features a felt belt layer with excellent temperature resistance and wear resistance. The rubber layer reduces the impact of the aluminum extrusion and conveying process on the felt layer, increasing its service life. A concave-convex mating structure enhances the fit between the rubber and the frame, and the designed arc-shaped recesses facilitate assembly, reducing assembly difficulty and enhancing practicality. Statistics show that traditional single-felt-layer rollers used as sliding tracks at the extruder outlet require replacement after approximately two months, resulting in significant wear. The new composite roller, however, can last up to six months, greatly increasing service life and reducing replacement frequency.

4. Conclusion

The aluminum processing industry plays a vital role in China's economic development, with its market size continuously growing while facing fierce market competition. Continuous technological accumulation and innovation are key driving forces for the industry's growth. Production auxiliary tools, as an important link in the aluminum processing industry, will be one of the greatest contributors to the overall industry's development if they can continue to deepen their development, strengthen cooperation with manufacturing enterprises, and constantly innovate.
